Tuesday 8/19

I have repeat offenders for today's Blog Brag.  This means, that these two culprits have been bragged about before, and it seems I'm destined to brag about them again.  (I'm totes being sarcastic... I'm really glad to be writing about them both!)

Ryan earned yet another blog brag.  This selfless individual has given the class additional recess times-- twice, I think!  He was also selected as our class' male student council rep.  Basically, he's a jack of all trades.  He greatest trade is making positive choices at school.  I'm still glad he's in my class and am starting to think I might flunk him in all his grades so that he has to come to fourth grade again.  Additionally, a little birdy just told me that he ran the longest in the pacer test in PE.  Whoopee!!!

The one and only Hailey also got another blog brag.  She is such a ray of light.  I can honestly say, that each and every day I look forward to coming into work and talking to her.  She shows great maturity and responsibility.  She works hard on her assignments and is kind to all the students in the class.  Other teachers have noticed and said to me, "Sarah, that is just the nicest girl."  I always say, "Yeah, I know.  She's mine.  And I get to keep her ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL year."  :)  I like that.  We've only just started!!!

Tues 8/12

Note:  A number of students got darts today because their homework was not completed or at school.  It is important for students to turn in work completed and on time.  I want to make sure students and parents understand that getting a dart DOES NOT mean that you are not a "good kid."  "Good kids" get darts.  "Good kids" mess up now and again.  It's not a big deal.  The best thing is to learn from your mistakes.  Use a dart as an opportunity to learn and grow-- not to get down.  Each day is a new day and starts with a clean slate!

Student council forms, if you want to be considered for student council, are due Thursday.  If you are not interested in being on student council, you do not need to return the form.

Parents:  Please be sure you are looking through your student's purple folder.  Please make sure you keep the papers on the KEEP AT HOME side.

**Blog Brag

It was a great day for Fieteopoly!  I've got four kind souls to brag about.

Can you believe that Luke landed on Blog Brag again?  He got to a roll backward and ended up here again.  What a crazy kid!  Luke moved his seat to the front of the room from the back.  I'm hoping that with him in the front, he'll lead others to success-- just like he's had so far!

Ryan, our selfless classmate, also landed on Blog Brag.  I say that Ryan is selfless because he chose to  use his 15 minutes of fame to give the WHOLE CLASS extra recess to do what they want to do.  How nice is that?  So far, I think Ryan is a hard worker and nice to his classmates.  Hopefully his streak of positive character continues!!

Ethan also got an opportunity to move and land on Blog Brag.  I gotta tell you, that kid is nice and funny.  He's got interesting things to share.  Some day, when we're both bored, I'd like to sit down and have a nice long chat with that fellow about... whatever comes to mind.  I just like talking to him.  That's a pretty nice quality to have.  He's kind of great.  I'll keep him.

Finally, my darling Hailey landed on Blog Brag too.  She's a quiet soul, but I feel joyful when I'm around her.  That's pretty amazing.  She exudes calm joy, and for my topsy-turvy life, that's awesome.  She's a wonderful reader and mathematician.  I predict she will rule the world one day.  Or, I hope she does.  That would be lovely.

**Blog Brag
At the end of the day yesterday, Luke came to me and let me know that he earned a Blog Brag.  What an easy job for me!  I had Luke's brother in class, and I can easily see that the brothers are very much alike!  Luke is polite, kind, respectful, and fun to be around.  All the students seem to like him.  I'm learning about his character a little more each day.  So far, I think he's trustworthy and reliable.  I'm sure that will be confirmed in the weeks and months to come.  Luckily for me, I will never lose Luke.  I will never lose Luke because his shoes are so stinking bright, that he would be able to be found in the pitch black.  They hurt my eyes!  Highlighter shoes!!

Weds 8/6

**Blog Brag**

Mr. Michael landed on Blog Brag today while playing Fieteopoly.  He and his partner were doing a great job today during reading while I was doing DIBELS.  Michael is in the process of moving, so his whole world is topsy turvy.  Despite this, this gentleman always has a smile on his face and is doing the right thing in class.  I've learned a lot about this fella's character in the last few days.  And I am SOOOO glad that he is in our class and I get to be around him every single day.  He's definitely the type of person I love to be around.

Tues 8/5

**Blog Brag**
Today, I get the privilege if bragging about five different students in our class.  Ask YOUR student how they could end up on our blog brag.

Sir Keaton has been a joy to have in class so far.  Today, he did a great job reading his DIBELS passages, and then he cruised right on into reading with his partner.  He uses great expression as he reads-- which makes it such a joy to listen to him read!  I may not know him inside and out yet, but I can tell from his laughing and twinkling eye, he is going to be a lot of fun to be around ALL YEAR!

Jake M --man oh man are we lucky to have him!  He's a trooper for sure.  On his first day at school, he crashed at recess and got a bloody mess on his knee!  But that didn't keep him down.  By the end of the day he was smiling!  He is playful and fun, and eager to share in class.  I'm so grateful his was put in MY class.  Basically, he's awesomesauce.

Olivia, also known as Katy Perry, is a rock star too (obviously).  I call her Katy Perry because I wrote her name wrong repeatedly, giving her the wrong last name of "Perry."  The only Perry I know is Katy Perry, so I just started calling Olivia that.  She looks like a rock star today with sparkly shirt and sandals.  If she's not careful, I think Ms. Becerra might steal her sandals.  I'm just saying... the girl's got style!!

Owen was almost left of this list!!  Silly goose.  Maybe he was talking when I asked for my Blog Brag people? Noooooo, not Owen! :)  Owen, so far, has been a really fun kid to have around.  He's got a smile that last for days, and a great sense of humor.  He is playful and kind.  I'm really excited to get to know him more.  Today, he worked hard during reading and got to move his piece.  I think this is the promise of great things to come from him this year.

Last, but certainly not least, is our resident entomologist, Conner R.  Bless Conner's heart, I misspelled his first AND last name on his name tag for supply drop off night.  Thank goodness he's a forgiving soul!  Conner is very eager to learn and he has so many great things to share with the class.  I think I'm going to learn a lot from him this year.  He's a speed racer when it comes to getting work done-- if he were in the Indy 500, he'd blow by the pace car in a jiff!  He's got a great smile and I adore his energy.  Again, how did I get so lucky to have this fella in my class??
