Blog Brag: To dear Sir Ethan: You have long since earned this blog brag. However, I have been especially remiss in my duties. For that, I apologize. It was neither a reflection of you or my ability to brag about your awesomeness, but instead a reflection on the lack of time in the afternoon while blogging. Alas, I am ready. Sir Ethan, you are a noble gentleman. You are exceptionally knowledgeable about wolves and the folklore surrounding them. I have learned a lot listening to you. Additionally, I find that you are a trustworthy soul. You have humor and make me laugh. Your fact knowledge causes me to raise my eyebrow in puzzlement. You're a wonderful wonderful young man, and I am exceptionally lucky to know you. Thanks for continually showing up at my classroom door day after day.

I'm a few days late on my blog brag. Ok, ok, ok... I'm a week or more late. I'm truly sorry to these two lovely ladies. First, Miss Cadence is part of a whiz-bang, top-notch organizing crew. Who knew?! Not me. Today, with her extra time, she chose to help me out around the classroom. What a friendly gal. Super friendly, indeed. This is the first time this lady has helped me. I know that she's always willing to help me out, and that means a lot to me. Sometimes... ok.... most of the time... I'm unorganized, running behind, and being forgetful. Luckily for THIS teacher, I have Cadence in my class to lend a helping hand. My second lady is Andrea. Andrea is what I consider a fashionista. I think she has a special flair for picking out smashing outfits and accessorizing well. You know what else she's good at? Reading out loud. This week while reading Frindle, she read out loud multiple times. This girl has fluency down pat. She uses expression and voice. She takes the authors cues through the punctuation. Maybe she'll be an actress one day! Who knows? If she ends up rich and famous, maybe she'll remember her fourth grade teacher and buy me a convertible car or something. Or maybe she'll just buy me a box of candy. Either way. I'll be a lucky gal--- even luckier than I am now.

A few days ago, the wonderfully wonderful and kind Taylor landed on Blog Brag. I've cut our days' end too close and didn't get to brag about her. Not today! Today, I get to share how wonderfully wonderful it is to have Taylor in my class. She is very kind and helpful to me. She works hard in class and does her very best on her assignments. I'd say she's a superstar! Today, she brought in an item from home that was sporting the very best hot pink cowboy boots. If they would fit my feet, I would steal them. But they don't. So I won't. Instead, I'll continue being thankful that Taylor is in my class. YAY TAYLOR! YOU ARE WONDERFULLY WONDERFUL!!
As reward, students may bring in one item from home tomorrow. The item should be able to fit in their bookbag and sit on their desk. They should still have room on their desk to work. If items become a distraction to the student or others, it will be returned to their backpack for the rest of the day.

Blog Brag: Today I have the privilege to brag about Jacob C. Today, the TWO Jacobs in our class were rocking out in science. They were using resources, reading, and handling their scientific business. It was fantastic, and they got to move on Fieteopoly. Jacob C. landed on blog brag. Now Jacob C.... that guy is a mathematician. He is great with numbers and learned both of the tricky new addition methods in a snap! He helps out in class whenever he can, and that's definitely a sign of good character. That'll last him a lifetime. Way to be awesomesauce! Totes Magotes!

I have repeat offenders for today's Blog Brag. This means, that these two culprits have been bragged about before, and it seems I'm destined to brag about them again. (I'm totes being sarcastic... I'm really glad to be writing about them both!)
Ryan earned yet another blog brag. This selfless individual has given the class additional recess times-- twice, I think! He was also selected as our class' male student council rep. Basically, he's a jack of all trades. He greatest trade is making positive choices at school. I'm still glad he's in my class and am starting to think I might flunk him in all his grades so that he has to come to fourth grade again. Additionally, a little birdy just told me that he ran the longest in the pacer test in PE. Whoopee!!!
The one and only Hailey also got another blog brag. She is such a ray of light. I can honestly say, that each and every day I look forward to coming into work and talking to her. She shows great maturity and responsibility. She works hard on her assignments and is kind to all the students in the class. Other teachers have noticed and said to me, "Sarah, that is just the nicest girl." I always say, "Yeah, I know. She's mine. And I get to keep her ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL year." :) I like that. We've only just started!!!

I forgot to tell you, but yesterday we got extra recess due to two lovelies landed on Go on Fieteopoly and earning/choosing extra recess yesterday. Tomorrow, we're doing it again! Unbelievable! We have to get all work in the classroom done, but then we SHOULD have enough time to do it tomorrow too! Holy smokes!
We drew for Students Council Representatives, our reps are: Ryan and Andrea.

Blog Brag: Today, Mr. Caleb earned blog brag. Caleb is a high energy guy that likes to be in the middle of whatever is going on. He is open and friendly. He has THE BEST handwriting! I love it! His papers are like gifts to my old grading eyes. :) I'm lucky to get to spend so much time with him. Proud of his accomplishment today!! Yay!
Note: A number of students got darts today because their homework was not completed or at school. It is important for students to turn in work completed and on time. I want to make sure students and parents understand that getting a dart DOES NOT mean that you are not a "good kid." "Good kids" get darts. "Good kids" mess up now and again. It's not a big deal. The best thing is to learn from your mistakes. Use a dart as an opportunity to learn and grow-- not to get down. Each day is a new day and starts with a clean slate! Student council forms, if you want to be considered for student council, are due Thursday. If you are not interested in being on student council, you do not need to return the form. Parents: Please be sure you are looking through your student's purple folder. Please make sure you keep the papers on the KEEP AT HOME side.

**Blog Brag
It was a great day for Fieteopoly! I've got four kind souls to brag about.
Can you believe that Luke landed on Blog Brag again? He got to a roll backward and ended up here again. What a crazy kid! Luke moved his seat to the front of the room from the back. I'm hoping that with him in the front, he'll lead others to success-- just like he's had so far!
Ryan, our selfless classmate, also landed on Blog Brag. I say that Ryan is selfless because he chose to use his 15 minutes of fame to give the WHOLE CLASS extra recess to do what they want to do. How nice is that? So far, I think Ryan is a hard worker and nice to his classmates. Hopefully his streak of positive character continues!!
Ethan also got an opportunity to move and land on Blog Brag. I gotta tell you, that kid is nice and funny. He's got interesting things to share. Some day, when we're both bored, I'd like to sit down and have a nice long chat with that fellow about... whatever comes to mind. I just like talking to him. That's a pretty nice quality to have. He's kind of great. I'll keep him.
Finally, my darling Hailey landed on Blog Brag too. She's a quiet soul, but I feel joyful when I'm around her. That's pretty amazing. She exudes calm joy, and for my topsy-turvy life, that's awesome. She's a wonderful reader and mathematician. I predict she will rule the world one day. Or, I hope she does. That would be lovely.

Next week we'll continue with geometric shapes-- remember lines, line segments, rays, parallel, quadrangles, parallelograms.... all that good stuff!
**Blog Brag At the end of the day yesterday, Luke came to me and let me know that he earned a Blog Brag. What an easy job for me! I had Luke's brother in class, and I can easily see that the brothers are very much alike! Luke is polite, kind, respectful, and fun to be around. All the students seem to like him. I'm learning about his character a little more each day. So far, I think he's trustworthy and reliable. I'm sure that will be confirmed in the weeks and months to come. Luckily for me, I will never lose Luke. I will never lose Luke because his shoes are so stinking bright, that he would be able to be found in the pitch black. They hurt my eyes! Highlighter shoes!!
