Weds 3/19

Coin Wars between grades

Today we had a class discussion about how we can improve our performance on stations.  The class gave suggestions for the teacher (what do I need to do/change to help you be more successful), and what do the students need to change to be more successful.  I think it went well, and there are definitely changes on the horizon.  Hopefully, this will improve station work grades.

Thursday 3/13

Brag of the day: Each morning, Miss Alivia is one of the first people to greet me in the morning.  I'd like to tell you that each morning she has a spring in her step and a smile on her face.  But that'd be a fib.  Alivia strolls into the classroom in her super-cool fashion, not showing too much excitement.  She's laid back and usually quite mystifying.  She's not as easy to read as a book.  She rolls her eyes when I say dumb thing.  She doesn't laugh when I make stupid jokes.  But sometimes... just sometimes... she greets me with the warmest and prettiest smile and it makes my WHOLE day.  Also, she has red shoes that I want to steal.  I'm just saying.  I wonder if a house would fall out of the sky, crushing her, leaving her red boots sticking out from under it... and I could snatch them from her lifeless feet.  Like Wizard of Oz. That'd be cool.  Maybe they have magical powers.  I dunno.  She won't let me wear them.  Maybe that's why she won't let me wear them.  Maybe they have magical powers and she doesn't want to share.  Hmmmmm.... maybe.  Back to the topic at hand:  Alivia's great and I'm so stinking happy that she left those folks at Cardinal and came here to Brown.  She is better as a Brown student than Cardinal.  :)  I heart her.

Book Orders:  If you want them before Spring Break, place your orders by tomorrow.  Otherwise, you can place them until next Friday 3/21

Wednesday

Brag of the day:  Guess who landed on Blog Brag for the SECOND time??  Yes, that would be the one... THE ONLY.... Mr. Stover!  Mr. Stover has a hard time keeping track of his clothing.  One day, he can't find his jacket.  The next day, his sweatshirt is MIA.  What does this say about Mr. Stover? Well, I think it shows that he is a party animal who just can't be contained.   He's wild, free, and absolutely wonderful.  I think we should keep him.  Yay Mr. Stover!!!

Book Order:  If you want your order before spring break, you need to turn it in by this Friday 3/14.  If you don't mind waiting to get your books, you may place your order up until NEXT Friday 3/21.

Tuesday 3/11

Brag of the Day: Today the one and only Mr. Parsons landed on our brag of the day.  Mr. Parsons may seem softspoken to some, but to his friends he's a funny and fun guy.  At recess, he is busy and always playing goalie.  Mr. Parsons works hard in class and rarely gets darts for misbehaviors.  We are really lucky to have Mr. Parsons in our class.  He makes us even more fun and funny!

BOOK ORDERS:  If you want your order to be here before Spring Break, book orders need to be turned in by this Friday. 3/14  If you don't need it before we get back from Spring Break, orders can be placed by 3/21.

Brag of the Day: Today, we get to discuss a student with IMPECABLE taste in football teams.  I mean, this kid knows good football when he sees it.  Obviously, he's way smart too because the team he follows has SIX (count 'em, Six!) Super Bowl Rings--- the SIXburgh Steelers.  :)  Enough about football, let's talk about Martino.  As one of our resident Math whizzes, Martino is always on the ball in Math. Friends can depend on him to help them get work done on time and correctly.  He works hard.  He's a funny kiddo too.  You should ask him to tell you something funny.  He might just stare at you, or he might actually do it.  I'm not sure.  Whatever the case-- Martino is a great classmate and student.  He works hard, is polite, and is a great friend.  Thanks for being in our class, Martino, and doing what you need to do all day everyday.

Tuesday 3/4

Brag of the day:  Today, the one and only Mr. Stover made it to the "Blog Brag" space on Fieteopoly.  Mr. Stover (as I usually call him in class) always has a bright smile for his teachers and classmates.  Sometimes, he worries about his assignments-- I think he's a perfectionist!  He gets good grades, tries very hard, and almost ALWAYS shows good character.  He's kind to his friends and the staff here at Brown.  I don't know of a SINGLE PERSON (adult or kid) who doesn't like Mr. Stover.  He's  a rockstar and I plan on flunking him so that he doesn't pass to the fifth grade.  Just sayin'.

Monday 3/3

Brag of the day:  Our favorite former Arizonian, Peyton:
Today, Peyton got to move his clothespin on our Fieteopoly board because he was doing EXACTLY what he needed to do during Social Studies when Mrs. Bergman was in the classroom.  He's a wild child, but we think he's Peyton-tastic.  The cat's meow.  The bee's knees.  We just wouldn't be the same without him.  Thank you for all the personality and life that you bring to our classroom, Peyton. We are lucky to have you!!!! :)
